Grade Constitution

Final grades in this course will be constituted according to the following approved formula: Grades in this course are issued according to the following numerical scale:

interim exams (2) 40%
thesis statement and preliminary biliography 20%
research paper 25%
attendance & participation 15%

Grade Scale

The grading scale employed in this class to evaluate all quizzes, examinations, papers, essays, etc., as well as the final grade, is as follows (scale is incomplete at this time):

A	= 92-100
A-	= 90-91
B+	= 87-89
B	= 82-86
B-	= 80-81
C+	= 77-79
C	= 72-76
C-	= 70-71
D+	= 67-69
D	= 61-66
D-	= 60
F	= 0-59
WA	final grade	[administrative withdrawal due to excessive absences = F]
XF	final grade	[failure due to academic dishonesty]
